Overview
The Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC) is proof of competency for operating a power-driven recreational boat in Canada. Transport Canada says everyone who operates a power-driven boat needs proof of competency, and the card is the usual way to show it. You get it by passing an accredited boating safety test. Once issued, the card is good for life and must be carried when operating a boat. The exam details below come from an accredited provider rather than a Transport Canada page, so confirm them with the course you choose.
