The three Reading tasks

| Complete the Words | A short academic paragraph. The first sentence is complete; after it, every second word is missing its second half. | Type the missing letters of 10 words. Each box holds one letter. |

How the two stages work
Everyone starts with the same first module. When you finish it, your result picks a harder or an easier second module. One clock runs across both, so keep a steady pace of about 35 seconds a question.
Each module starts with Complete the Words, then moves to daily-life texts and academic passages. The harder second module leans on academic passages and the easier one on daily-life texts.
Once you move to the second module you cannot go back to the first. Check your answers before you continue.
Tips
- In Complete the Words, read the whole sentence first: grammar (a plural, a past tense) often tells you the ending.
- In daily-life texts, look for dates, prices and conditions; questions often turn on one detail.
- In academic passages, answer vocabulary questions from the sentence around the word, not from the word alone.
Frequently asked questions
Is spelling marked in Complete the Words?
Yes. Each word counts only when every missing letter is right. Capital letters do not matter.
Why does my Reading score say estimated?
The official conversion from correct answers to a band is not published, and it depends on which second module you took. Padhantu estimates it from the difficulty of the questions you answered.
