Overview
SERVIR is Peru's National Civil Service Authority (Autoridad Nacional del Servicio Civil). It does not run one exam. Its recruitment route for candidates is the selection process of the Cuerpo de Gerentes Públicos (CGP, the Public Managers Corps), created by Legislative Decree 1024. The CGP selects professionals through merit-based public competitions and then assigns them to management posts in national, regional and local government entities that request them.
The official pages are in Spanish. This page is a summary of them, and the exact rules for any call are in the bases that SERVIR publishes with it.

Who can apply
SERVIR's generic profile for public managers, valid for 2016 to 2019 and the latest generic version read for this page, sets these entry requirements:
A university degree, or a master's or doctoral degree.
Not barred from public service by a final administrative decision or a court judgment.
Peruvian nationality.
At least five years of professional experience, with preferably at least two years (continuous or not) serving the State in the relevant area during the last ten years.
Each specific post profile sets its own minimum general and specific experience and says whether prior State service is required. For example, the 2015 call for human resources managers asked for more than eight years of general experience and more than four in human resources, and did not require prior State service.
Selection process
Each call publishes its own bases and timetable. The calls listed on SERVIR's past-calls page show the usual stages: recruitment and mass evaluation, curriculum evaluation and data verification, classification by post type, an introduction course (practical cases and generic and cross-cutting competencies), and interviews. The 2019 simplified process also listed a competencies workshop and a practical case before the interviews. Candidates apply for the post-type profiles that interest them, such as administration, logistics, planning and budget, human resources, general regional manager or municipal manager.
Important dates
Dates depend on each call. Two examples from SERVIR's own announcements:
2015: the fourteenth national call ran from 27 September to 12 October 2015 and aimed to bring in 50 professionals as human resources managers.
2019: the third simplified process took applications from 22 to 28 February 2019 to select 100 professionals. It was open to former public managers excluded for expiry of their availability period without assignment, and to applicants from earlier calls who passed data verification but missed a place in the introduction course.
The SERVIR public managers page read in October 2026 did not show an open call. Check that page for current calls.
Fees
The 2015 call stated that applying was free and online. Check the bases of any current call for fees.
After selection
Public managers join the Corps and wait in availability until an entity that has requested one is assigned to them. They are employed under a special labour regime with its own pay scale, and a manager's continued stay in an assigned post depends on meeting set goals and indicators. SERVIR's FAQ lists benefits such as pay, vacation, social security, relocation costs and legal defence. During a two-month availability period a manager receives 85% of the monthly income of the last year of assignment, with exceptions the FAQ explains.
