Sub-inspector (SI)
The reported SI process has three steps: primary selection, written exam and viva. Subjects are set by the police authority. In the 2024 round the written papers were as follows.
| Paper | Marks |
|---|---|
| English and Bangla composition | 100 |
| General knowledge and arithmetic | 100 |
| Psychology | 50 |
The written total is 250 marks and the viva is 100. Half of SI posts are filled directly through the Police Headquarters and the other half by promotion from assistant sub-inspector.
Is the pattern the same every year?
Not necessarily. Each circular sets the posts, eligibility and exam details for that round.
