Important dates
For the 2026 cycle, ÖSYM's calendar lists:
6 February to 2 March 2026: application period for all three sessions.
10 to 12 March 2026: late application days.
20 and 21 June 2026: exam days.
21 July 2026, 06:00: results published.
29 July to 10 August 2026: placement preferences (tercih) period.
17 to 21 September 2026: preferences for the additional (ek) placement.

After the exam
ÖSYM publishes the question booklets and answer keys after the exam and announces results on its results system. Candidates then enter their programme preferences in the placement period, and ÖSYM places them. If seats remain unfilled, an additional placement round is held, as it was in September 2026. There is also a separate preference window for national sportspeople (17 to 24 August 2026).
Preparation tips
Work through ÖSYM's published past booklets under timed conditions, so you know the question counts and layout of each test.
Treat TYT as the foundation: it covers Turkish, basic mathematics, social sciences and natural sciences.
Check the ÖSYM guide for which tests count toward the programmes you plan to rank, and focus on those.
