Overview

LGS (Liselere Geçiş Sistemi, the High School Transition System) is the central exam that Turkey's Ministry of National Education (MEB) runs for 8th-grade students who want a place in secondary schools that admit students by exam. It is a one-day, two-session, multiple-choice exam, and the questions are written in Turkish.

In 2026 it was held on Saturday 13 June.

Exam pattern

The 2026 exam had 90 questions in two sessions, taken on the same day.

Answers are marked on a separate answer sheet. MEB publishes the question booklets and answer keys after the exam. For 2026, the central exam results were scheduled for 10 July 2026, and the secondary-school choice and placement guide was to be published on the same date, with the choice process starting then.
