Overview

Safe Pass is the SOLAS health and safety awareness programme for construction in Ireland. The only source read for this page is the course listing of a private Irish training provider, not SOLAS itself, so check details with SOLAS. That listing says the course gives basic knowledge of health and safety, so that a worker can work on site without being a risk to themselves or to others who might be affected by their acts or omissions.

The same listing says the programme came out of an initiative by the Construction Industry Training Committee, which was incorporated into the Construction Safety Partnership Plan. Content was agreed through consultation between FAS and expert working groups representing the social partners.

How to apply

Safe Pass courses are booked with a training provider. Providers publish course dates, venues and seat availability on their own sites.

After the exam

A lost or damaged SOLAS Safe Pass card can be replaced by filling out the online replacement application on the SOLAS website.
