Overview

NCCER is an independent nonprofit education foundation, created in 1996, that provides construction education, assessments, credentials and accreditation in the United States. Its programmes cover many construction crafts.

Credentials

The NCCER site lists these groups of credentials:

  • Craft credentials and certifications across construction trades, with module tests and skills assessments.

  • Crane, rigger and signal person certifications.

  • Construction Foreman Certification, a 5-course programme for new and existing frontline supervisors.

  • Construction Superintendent Certification, a 16-course programme.

  • Construction site safety credentials.

How to apply

Training and assessment are delivered through accredited organizations; the site has a "Find a Center" tool. Learners are identified by an NCCER number, which they can create or look up on the site, and employers can verify credentials online.

Note

Level structure, assessment format and fees are on the NCCER site and were not read in detail for this page.
