Overview
Nezam Mohandesi is the Persian short name for the Iran Building Engineering Organization (Sazman-e Nezam-e Mohandesi-ye Sakhteman). It issues work permits and professional grades to building architects, structural engineers, mechanical and electrical building-services engineers, town planners, surveyors and traffic engineers.
People who want to practise in these fields must pass the entry-to-profession exams (azmoon-e vorood be herfe-ye mohandesan). Candidates register through a dedicated online exam system linked from the organisation's website.

Who can apply
According to the 1405 (2026) registration notice, applicants need at least an associate degree (kardani), a bachelor's degree or a higher qualification in a relevant field. Men and women can both apply, and registration is open nationwide. The exam guidebook sets the exact field-by-field conditions, so read it before paying for registration.
Exam pattern
The exam is held in seven fields: architecture, civil engineering, mechanical systems, electrical systems, urban planning, surveying and traffic engineering. Within each field there are separate exams for different kinds of work, such as design, supervision and execution.
For 2026 (1405), the sittings are on Thursdays and Fridays, each with a morning and an afternoon session. Exact dates were to be announced after registration.
Question counts, time limits and negative marking are set in the exam guidebook and are not covered here.
Marking and results
Conditional passing is not allowed. A candidate must reach the minimum required score to qualify. The guidebook lists the cut-offs.
