Overview

TCAS (Thai University Central Admission System) is the national process for entering Thai universities, run by the Council of University Presidents of Thailand (CUPT, ทปอ.). It is not one exam. It combines four admission rounds with shared national tests: TGAT (general aptitude), TPAT (professional and academic aptitude) and A-Level (subject knowledge). This page follows TCAS70, the cycle for the 2027 academic year (Thai year 2570).

Who can apply

Students who finished school abroad or hold a GED need equivalence documents through the CUPT equivalence system: a certificate of equivalent qualification and a GPAX equivalence certificate if complete, or a provisional certificate if their studies or GED exams are not finished. Each applicant can give up a confirmed seat only once in order to apply in a later round.

Exam pattern

The national tests listed in the TCAS70 blueprint are:

TestSubject
TGAT1English communication
TGAT2Reasoning
TGAT3Working competency
TPAT2Art aptitude
TPAT3Science, technology and engineering aptitude
TPAT4Architecture aptitude
TPAT5Education (teaching) aptitude
A-LevelApplied Mathematics 1 and 2, Applied Science, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Social Studies, Thai, English, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Pali, Spanish

Courses are listed on the course search at course.mytcas.com. The official blueprint is a preparation guide only and does not fix the exact form of each year's questions.

Marking and results

Results for each round are published in the TCAS system on fixed dates, followed by a window to confirm the seat.

How to apply

  • Rounds 1 and 2: each university sets its own application dates.

  • Round 3 (Admission): apply centrally through mytcas.com.

  • Round 4 (Direct Admission): apply through the university's own system.

After the exam

After each round you confirm or give up the seat in the system during the stated window. Giving up is allowed once only. The 28 May 2027 give-up window after the second Round 3 results is open only to applicants who confirmed in Round 3 and have not given up a seat before.

FAQs

Which TCAS round should I use?

The system has four rounds: Portfolio, Quota, Admission and Direct Admission. Round 3 is the one applied for centrally on mytcas.com and Round 4 is applied for through each university's own system. Rounds 1 and 2 have application dates set by each university, so check the course you want.
