Overview
Fiji National University (FNU) delivers Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) through its TVET Pasifika section. There is no single national exam: each programme has its own entry requirements and assessment, set by FNU. This page describes how admission works and what the programme list contains.
The TVET Pasifika menu lists short courses, full-time courses, online courses, apprenticeship, trade testing, and community-based non-formal education and training.

Who can apply
Applicants must meet the minimum entry requirements of the programme they choose; these differ by programme. FNU may also admit an applicant who does not meet the requirement for years of continuous education, if they can show they will succeed at that level through maturity, work experience or prior learning, and are at least 17 years old.
Levels or stages
The programme list on the FNU site is grouped by college, and the qualification types include:
Certificate I, III and IV programmes, such as Certificate III in Cookery, Certificate III in Carpentry and Certificate IV in Information Technology.
Higher Education Certificates and Diplomas, for example in Accounting, Management and Environmental Science.
Trade Diplomas, for example in Agriculture, Banking and Information Technology.
Diplomas in engineering and related fields, such as Civil Engineering, Marine Engineering and Nautical Science.
Health and nursing programmes, such as the Certificate in Enrolled Nursing and the Diploma in Nursing.
The list also includes Foundation Science, Preliminary Science and related bridging programmes, and certificates run by NTPC. Check the current programme list on the FNU site, since FNU says it has updated the list.
How to apply
Use the application link on the FNU TVET Pasifika Apply page. Once approved for a programme you receive an offer letter.
Regional students who accept the offer are told to travel with the offer letter, a valid passport, return air tickets, a police report signed by their local police that is not older than one year, and a medical report signed by their local doctor that is not older than three months. On arrival you present the offer letter to the Academic office, and you must lodge a student permit application within 30 days of arriving. FNU points to the Fiji Immigration website for permit details.
