Who it was for
Multiply funding was aimed at adults aged 19 and over in England who wanted to improve their numeracy skills.
How it worked
Rather than running as a single course or exam, Multiply funding was allocated to local authorities in England — including the Greater London Authority, mayoral combined authorities, and upper-tier and unitary councils — which each built their own investment plan to deliver numeracy training, tuition, courses and (where relevant) exam support in their area over the 2022–23, 2023–24 and 2024–25 financial years.
Current status
The programme has ended. GOV.UK states that the Multiply adult numeracy programme closed on 31 March 2025, and the funding-guidance publication was formally withdrawn on 1 April 2025.
