Who can apply
Students registered through a BSEB-affiliated school appear for Matric after completing Class 9–10 and for Intermediate after completing Class 11–12. Schools handle registration on students' behalf through the board's online portals; individual students do not register directly.

| Intermediate | Class 11–12 | 50% objective (MCQ), 50% subjective, across Science, Commerce and Arts streams |
Important dates
For the 2026 cycle, BSEB held the Matric and Intermediate theory examinations between 2 and 25 February 2026, in two shifts a day. The detailed timetable was published in November 2025, ahead of the exam.
How to apply
Registration is done by the school, not the individual student:
Secondary (Matric) schools register students through secondary.biharboardonline.com
Senior Secondary (Intermediate) schools register through seniorsecondary.biharboardonline.com (also reachable via intermediate.biharboardonline.com)
Vividh-stream schools register through the Vividh section of the secondary portal
BSEB issues a dummy admit card before the exam so students can get errors in their personal details corrected through the school before the final admit card is released.
After the exam
Students who do not clear a subject can appear for the board's compartmental or special examination. Model question papers, subject-wise syllabi and passing-criteria documents for the current session are published on the official portal before the exam.
Preparation tips
Work through the syllabus and model papers published on the official BSEB portal for your session, not older or unofficial versions.
Since half the paper is objective, practise MCQs under time pressure alongside subjective answers.
Check your dummy admit card carefully when it is released and get any errors corrected through your school before the deadline.
