Who can apply
Registered Engineers who have at least five years of professional experience since their PEC registration, and who have earned at least 17 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points, are eligible to apply.
Exam pattern
The EPE is delivered as a computer-based test, held simultaneously at multiple cities across Pakistan on the scheduled exam date.
Important dates
PEC runs the EPE in scheduled sittings through the year; for example, the 27th EPE was scheduled for Fall 2026, with the test held on 8 November 2026. Check PEC's current CPD portal announcement for the next sitting's date.
How to apply
Confirm you meet the five-year experience and 17-CPD-point eligibility criteria.
Apply online through PEC's CPD portal within the announced application window.
Review the exam format, syllabus, and study material published on the CPD portal before the test date.
Preparation tips
Check your CPD point total well ahead of the application deadline, since the 17-point requirement is a hard eligibility bar, not something that can be made up after applying.
Is the EPE compulsory for all registered engineers?
No. It is optional, but passing it is a required step toward Professional Engineer status.
What experience do I need before taking the EPE?
At least five years of professional experience since PEC registration, plus at least 17 CPD points.
