Overview
The German theory exam is a computer-based multiple-choice test taken at a testing organisation such as TÜV or DEKRA after training at a driving school. It is the first of two exams, followed by the practical driving test. The exam details come from the motoring club ADAC, while the age window, training certificate validity, retake wait and cheating rule are confirmed in the federal driving licence regulation (FeV).
