Overview

The "code" is the written theory exam for a Tunisian driving licence. It is organised by the Agence Technique des Transports Terrestres (ATTT). The ATTT website could not be read for this page, so everything here comes from one undated guide on a car-market website, Automobile.tn. Treat it as a guide and confirm details with the ATTT. This page is thin for that reason.

Exam format

The exam takes place at an examination centre, on a multimedia computer. Candidates see photos of road situations, usually from the viewpoint of a driver, with one question per photo and two or three answers to choose from. Answers are given with coloured buttons. The exam lasts about half an hour and can be taken in Arabic or French.

Topics covered:

  • road signs and signalling, and the driver and the vehicle;

  • stopping and parking, crossing and overtaking, and priority rules;

  • traffic rules and traffic offences;

  • first aid, preventive maintenance and energy saving;

  • road transport of dangerous goods.
