Overview
China has no single national bank recruitment exam. This page covers the People's Bank of China (中国人民银行, PBC), the central bank. Its Personnel Department (人事司) runs a recruitment section on the PBC site with two channels: civil service recruitment and open selection of serving civil servants, and a separate platform for open recruitment by PBC affiliated units. Commercial and policy banks recruit separately and are not covered here.

How civil service recruitment works
The PBC hires civil servants through the annual national central-government civil service recruitment. Its 2026 public notices state that selected candidates went through a written test, an interview, a medical examination and a background check before being proposed for hire.
2026 round
The PBC's notices for 2026 show the scale.
| Notice | Result |
|---|---|
| Head office and civil-service-managed units, announced 21 April 2026 | 44 people proposed for hire, covering the head office and the China Anti-Money Laundering Monitoring and Analysis Center |
| Branch offices, first batch, announced 8 May 2026 | 2,613 people proposed for hire |
Each notice is followed by a public notice period of five working days, during which concerns can be raised with the Personnel Department or the relevant provincial branch.
How to apply
Watch the PBC Personnel Department's recruitment page for current notices. Affiliated units post openings on their own platform linked from that page. Notices set the posts, conditions and dates for each year.
Preparation tips
Read the post table in the year's notice for degree and major requirements before choosing a post.
Check whether you are aiming at the civil service channel or an affiliated unit, since they use different platforms.
