Selection process
Based on the Board's published notices, the Constable (Civil Police) selection runs through: a written (OMR-based) examination; Document Verification and Physical Standard Test (DV/PST) for candidates shortlisted from the written exam; a Physical Efficiency Test (PET); and a medical examination, before a final, district-wise merit list is prepared. For the current cycle, the written examination was held on 8, 9 and 10 June 2026, with the final answer key published 31 July 2026; DV/PST admit cards were released 10 August 2026; and PET admit cards and the PET schedule were published in September 2026.
Fees
Reported for the current cycle: an application fee of Rs 400 for General/OBC candidates; SC/ST candidates were not charged a fee. Confirm the exact fee, including any separate PwD exemption, against the current notification.
How to apply
Applications for UPPBPB recruitment cycles are submitted online during the window specified in each cycle's own notice on the Board's website, using a desktop or laptop browser (mobile application was not supported for this cycle); candidates upload photograph, signature and required documents (Class 10 and 12 marksheets, Aadhaar, date-of-birth proof, caste certificate where applicable) before paying the fee online.
Preparation tips
Because UPPBPB runs multiple recruitment cycles (Constable, Sub-Inspector and others) at overlapping times, and dates have shifted before (PET dates for one 2025 cycle were postponed due to rain), always confirm the current stage and schedule for your specific post on the Board's Notices page. Since the written exam has negative marking, prioritise accuracy over guessing; since the PET is a pass/fail stage independent of the written score, begin running and fitness practice (targeting the 4.8 km/25-minute or 2.4 km/14-minute standard) well before the written result is out.
