Overview

Oposiciones AGE are the competitive exams for civil-service bodies of the Administración General del Estado, Spain's central government. Posts are authorised each year in the Oferta de Empleo Público (OEP). The 2026 OEP lists 27,232 posts in the AGE, of which 20,541 are for open competition and 6,345 for internal promotion, with about 2,689 posts (around 10 percent) reserved for people with disabilities, according to the Moncloa announcement.

This page describes the December 2025 call (BOE of 22 December 2025), which opened the general bodies below, in each case with an open-access route and an internal-promotion route.

Who can apply

The qualification depends on the group: the secondary school diploma (ESO) or equivalent for C2, Bachiller or Técnico for C1, and a university degree (diplomatura, ingeniería técnica, arquitectura técnica or grado), or being able to obtain it, for A2. Nationality, age and other general conditions are in section 3 of the call.

Exam pattern

Open access (turno libre) is by oposición only, with no merits phase. For the Auxiliar, Administrativo and Técnicos Auxiliares de Informática bodies the opposition is a single exercise with two compulsory, eliminatory parts taken together, each scored 0 to 50 with at least 25 needed. Wrong answers are penalised.

Cuerpo General Auxiliar (C2)

PartContent
1Up to 60 questions: 30 on block I of the syllabus and 30 psychotechnical (administrative, numerical or verbal aptitudes)
2Up to 50 questions on block II, including Windows 11 and Microsoft 365 desktop

The whole exercise lasts 90 minutes and a wrong answer subtracts a third of a correct one.

Cuerpo General Administrativo (C1)

PartContent
1Up to 70 questions: 40 on blocks I to V and 30 on block VI, which includes Windows 11 and Microsoft 365
2A practical case chosen from two, with 20 questions, on blocks II to V

The exercise lasts 100 minutes, and a wrong answer subtracts a third of a correct one.

Cuerpo de Técnicos Auxiliares de Informática (C1)

PartContent
1Up to 80 questions on the syllabus
2A practical case with 20 questions, chosen from blocks III or IV

The whole exercise lasts 120 minutes and a wrong answer subtracts a third of a correct one. The practical case is chosen from two, and you answer on one block only.

Gestión de la Administración Civil and Gestión de Sistemas e Informática (A2)

Open access is by an opposition followed by a selective course. The opposition has two compulsory, eliminatory exercises, each scored 0 to 50 with at least 25 needed. The first is a test of up to 100 questions in 90 minutes, with a wrong answer costing a third of a correct one. The second is a written practical case of 5 questions, chosen from two, with 150 minutes for Gestión de la Administración Civil and 180 minutes for Gestión de Sistemas e Informática. Those who pass are appointed trainee civil servants and take a selective course organised by the Instituto Nacional de Administración Pública. The details are in Annexes VII and IX of the call.

Internal promotion

Internal promotion uses concurso-oposición: an opposition followed by a merits phase. In the Auxiliar body, for example, the opposition is one test of up to 40 questions in 60 minutes, with a wrong answer costing a quarter of a correct one, scored 0 to 50 with at least 25 needed. Those who pass submit a certificate of requirements and merits within 20 working days.

Marking and results

For the C2 and C1 open-access bodies the single exercise is out of 100 and needs at least 25 in each part. The Comisión Permanente de Selección sets the minimum raw score for each part, which cannot be below 30 percent of the maximum raw score. Those proposed for appointment have 20 working days to submit the documents proving they meet the requirements.

Important dates

The December 2025 call was published in the BOE on 22 December 2025. Applications ran for 20 working days from the next day.

Fees

For open access in this call: 11.66 euros for C2, 15.57 euros for C1 and 23.33 euros for A2. Internal promotion pays half, and members of large families in the general category pay half of the applicable fee. Exemptions apply in the cases listed in the call, such as disability of 33 percent or more and certain unemployed applicants.

How to apply

Apply electronically with official form 790 through the Punto de Acceso General (the IPS service), and pay the fee online within the application period.

After the exam

Candidates who pass become career civil servants and choose posts by order of ranking, in the territories that the call lists; the call's indicative table of open-access destinations spreads places across the autonomous communities, with Madrid having the largest share.

Preparation tips

  • Choose the body that matches your qualification, then study that body's annex in the call.

  • Practise multiple-choice tests with a penalty for wrong answers, plus timed practical cases for C1 and above.

  • For C2 and C1, practise Windows 11 and Microsoft 365 questions.

Is there one exam for all AGE posts?

No. Each body has its own exercises and syllabus, set out in its own annex of the call.
