Overview

Azmoon-e Estekhdami (آزمون استخدامی), the executive-agencies employment examination, is Iran's standardised recruitment exam for hiring staff into government executive bodies (دستگاه‌های اجرایی), administered by the National Organization for Educational Testing (سازمان سنجش آموزش کشور). It is held periodically to fill announced vacancies across participating ministries and agencies.

Who can apply

Eligibility (age range, educational qualification relevant to the post applied for, and other requirements) is set out in the official notice (دفترچه ثبت‌نام) published for each exam round, varying by the specific post and executive agency.

Exam pattern

The process has two main stages, weighted 70% written exam and 30% interview/assessment centres: a written exam (آزمون کتبی) testing general and specialised knowledge relevant to the post, followed by an interview and assessment-centre stage (مصاحبه و کانون‌های ارزیابی) for candidates who clear the written stage, with legal quota categories applied throughout.

A physical fitness assessment applies to relevant posts; candidates must score at least 50% to continue in the process, and failing to meet this threshold removes the candidate from further consideration for that post.

How to apply

Registration is online, through the official sanjesh.org portal, in two parts: uploading required documents, and entering personal information, within the registration window announced for that exam round.

After the exam

Candidates who pass both the written exam and the interview/assessment stage, and meet any physical fitness requirement for the post, are appointed to the relevant executive agency according to final merit ranking and quota rules.

Preparation tips

Because the written exam carries the larger share (70%) of the combined score, prioritising preparation for the post-specific general and specialised knowledge content tested in the written stage, while also preparing for the interview/assessment-centre format used in the remaining 30%, reflects how the two stages are weighted.

What are the two main stages of the Azmoon-e Estekhdami process?

A written exam, weighted 70% of the combined score, followed by an interview and assessment-centre stage, weighted 30%.

Is there a physical fitness requirement for some posts?
