Overview
Ethiopia has no single published police entrance exam that could be confirmed for this page. The official Ethiopian police websites could not be read when this page was checked, so current recruitment steps, test content, age limits and dates are not given here. Check the notice of the police body that is recruiting (the federal police or a regional police commission) for those details before applying.
What can be said comes from a secondary source, Wikipedia, and describes the main police training institution, the Ethiopian Police University College (formerly Aba Dina Police College). It is a public institution of higher education for training police officers, with its main campus in Sendafa, 38 kilometres north of Addis Ababa. It opened in 1946.

Training
According to the same source, entry to the earlier two-year course required secondary education or equivalent. That course was later replaced by a three-year programme taking high-school graduates with a C average in the Ethiopian School Leaving Certificate examination, or college dropouts. Instruction has included police science, criminal law, tactics, traffic control, sociology, criminology, physical education and first aid. Officers were commissioned after a cadet course, and the college also runs short courses and refresher training for serving officers. This describes the college's history, so current entry standards may differ.
