Overview
TAFEM (Test d'Admissibilité à la Formation en Management) is the single national written test used to admit students to the first year of the Écoles Nationales de Commerce et de Gestion (ENCG), the public business schools of Morocco. The same paper is sat for all ENCG schools in the network, and it is a multiple-choice test. Candidates are first shortlisted on their baccalaureate average, and only shortlisted candidates sit the TAFEM. The ministry's own site for the network was not reachable while this page was written, so the format below follows the ENCG Casablanca site (an official ENCG) and its 2016 paper, plus student-portal reports for later years. Check the ministry circular for the current year.

Who can apply
Holders of a Moroccan baccalaureate in one of these series can enter the first year:
Experimental sciences (including physical sciences and chemistry, life and earth sciences, and agronomic sciences)
Mathematical sciences A and B
Economics, and management and accounting sciences or techniques (including the older management and accounting techniques series)
A foreign baccalaureate (through the relevant mission)
ENCG Casablanca states that preselection ranks candidates by baccalaureate average, above a minimum threshold that varies by series. A student portal reports a weighting of 75 percent for the national exam and 25 percent for the regional exam, and thresholds in 2023 of about 12/20 for economics and mathematics series and up to 14/20 for experimental series. Treat these as reported figures and check the circular.
Holders of a two-year qualification (preparatory classes, DEUG, DUT, BTS or equivalent) can instead enter at semester 5 (third year), and holders of a three-year qualification (a licence in economics or management, or equivalent) at semester 7 (fourth year), through the "passerelle" routes. ENCG Casablanca says the selection procedure and places are set by each university council. A student portal adds that each school sets its own written test.
Exam pattern
The TAFEM is a 100-question multiple-choice test with four sub-tests. Each question has four answers, and only one is correct. Calculators are not allowed. The most recent official paper available on the ENCG Casablanca site is from 2016, and its format was:
| Sub-test | Questions | Time |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Memorisation (two texts, then questions with the texts removed) | 20 | 20 minutes to read, then 15 minutes to answer |
| 2. Problem solving | 20 | 50 minutes |
| 3. General knowledge | 30 | 15 minutes |
| 4. Linguistics and semantics (French) | 30 | 20 minutes |
That adds up to 120 minutes. Student portals describe later papers with somewhat different timings and a total of about two to two and a half hours, so confirm the format in your year's instructions.
Marking and results
In the 2016 paper, a correct answer earned 3 points, a wrong answer lost 1 point, and an unanswered question scored nothing. Student portals describe a 1-point penalty for each wrong answer in later years, so the exact scoring may have changed. Candidates are admitted in ranked lists, with waiting lists. The ENCG Casablanca site published admission lists and a registration notice for "TAFEM 2026" in several rounds (iterations).
Important dates
In the 2024 cycle, a student portal reports that online registration ran from 25 June to 19 July 2024 and the test was held on 25 July 2024, with the main list published on 29 July. For 2026, ENCG Casablanca scheduled in-person enrolment of admitted candidates (second iteration) for 5 to 7 August 2026. Dates change each year.
How to apply
Applications are made online on the national platform CursusSup (cursussup.gov.ma), where you rank the ENCG schools in order of preference. Upload the required documents before the deadline. Shortlisted candidates receive a call-up to the test.
After the exam
Admitted candidates are assigned to a school and enrol in person. For ENCG Casablanca in 2026, the file included the printed online pre-registration receipt, the original baccalaureate and copies, the original transcript of the two-year (Bac+2) qualification, a copy of the national ID card, four recent ID photos (plus a digital photo on a CD) and the student insurance receipt.
Preparation tips
Practise with past papers: ENCG Casablanca publishes TAFEM papers from 2007 to 2016 on its site.
Train the memorisation section: you cannot go back to the texts after the reading time ends.
Since a wrong answer costs points, learn to skip questions you cannot narrow down.
Revise French grammar and vocabulary for the language sub-test, and read the news for the general-knowledge sub-test.
Is the TAFEM the same for all ENCG schools?
Yes. All schools in the network use the same test for first-year admission.
Does everyone who applies sit the TAFEM?
No. Candidates are first shortlisted on their baccalaureate average, and only shortlisted candidates are called to the test.
Are wrong answers penalised?
Yes. In the 2016 official paper, a wrong answer lost 1 point while a blank answer cost nothing.
