Overview

The Olimpiada Matematica Espanola (OME) is Spain's national mathematics olympiad, run by the Real Sociedad Matematica Espanola (RSME). It has a local phase in each region and a national phase, and it is used to choose Spain's teams for international olympiads. The facts below are from the 2024-2025 (61st) edition; the 62nd edition ran in 2025-2026, so check the RSME site for current details.

Who can take part

The olympiad is for high school students (Bachillerato) enrolled in Spanish schools or foreign schools accredited in Spain. Exceptionally, younger students of outstanding ability can enter if their teacher endorses them in writing. Regional reports mention 1st and 2nd year of Bachillerato and teacher-endorsed 3rd and 4th year ESO students.
