(A) (i) Regeneration is the process by which some organisms can give rise to new individuals from their body parts. For example, Planaria can regenerate its body parts, but humans cannot. This is because humans have complex body structures and organs that cannot be regenerated.

(ii) The filamentous structures in the pond are Spirogyra, which reproduces by fragmentation. The process involves the breaking up of the filaments into smaller pieces, each of which can grow into a new individual.
