Myopia is a defect of vision in which a person can see nearby objects clearly but cannot see distant objects distinctly. This defect arises due to (i) excessive curvature of the eye lens, or (ii) elongation of the eyeball. The image formation by a myopic eye can be shown using a ray diagram, and the correction of myopia using an appropriate lens can also be shown using a ray diagram.
