(a) Isomerism: The phenomenon in which compounds have the identical molecular formula but different structural arrangements of atoms is called structural isomerism.
Butane () has two structural isomers:
- -Butane (Straight chain):
- Isobutane (Branched chain, also known as 2-methylpropane):
